A Watercolor Workshop for Teachers - The Power of Color, Gaining Insight of the Child Through Art
August
12 - 13, 2008
Let yourself become the child as you learn the basics of watercolor. Understand how the act of creating can ease tension, reinforce focusing skills, inspire confidence, awaken observation skills, encourage respect for individuality, demand discipline and use problem-solving skills. You will discover the intertwining of art with subjects that are taught in your classroom. You will leave with ideas for lesson plans and with a better understanding of the ‘power of color’ in your classroom
This Workshop is sponsored by and will be held at the Hutchinson Center, Belfast (CEU credits available)

Watercolors on the Coast of Maine (Elderhostel) Workshop
September 21 - 25, 2008
The Maine coast has beckoned water colorists for years. Its brilliant, crisp, sparkling water and bold granite shores inspire land and seascapes from sunrise to sunset. Discover a charming and historical seafaring town and waterfront through the eyes of an artist. All students will receive one-one-one instruction by a professional watercolorist and teacher in both classroom and plein air settings. Beginners are introduced to basic techniques and brush usage while the more advanced “brush” up on their basic skills. Everyone will discover, learn, create and laugh while painting by the sea. Unleash your creative potential in this hands-on workshop for beginning and intermediate level painters.
Program coordinated by Elderhostel.
